Why These Causes Matter to Us

Our commitment to patients and communities goes beyond the medicines we develop. Creating better health and a brighter future means showing up where health begins—in the communities where people live, learn, work and care for one another. Guided by our values, this commitment shapes how we partner, invest and act every day. We believe lasting impact comes from working alongside community experts, not simply funding programs. That’s why we partner with trusted local leaders who understand their communities’ realities, challenges and strengths. By combining their expertise with Takeda’s resources and long-term commitment, we help expand access to care, strengthen food security and open pathways in STEM—driving meaningful, sustainable change for generations to come.

The Highlights

Food is Health

At Takeda, we believe that access to nutritious food is foundational to long-term health and community wellbeing. Our Food is Health pillar reflects research showing that nutrition significantly influences health outcomes and can reduce avoidable healthcare costs, reinforcing the powerful, complementary relationship between nutritious food and modern medicine. Through partnerships with trusted community-based organizations, we help ensure that individuals and families have access to nutritious, culturally appropriate and medically tailored food, whether they are managing chronic conditions like diabetes and cardiovascular disease or simply striving to maintain good health. These approaches not only support physical health but also strengthen mental wellbeing and reduce the financial and emotional strain that food insecurity creates. Our commitment extends beyond meeting immediate needs. We invest in long-term, community-designed solutions — from urban farms and gardens to medically-tailored meals — that expand fresh food access with dignity. By supporting these local, sustainable systems, we help ensure that no individual or family goes hungry, regardless of location or income level, and we contribute to stronger, more resilient communities over time.

Building STEM foundations

Our grant program is currently by invitation only to support deepening our work with existing community partners. However, we’re always interested in learning about organizations doing impactful work. If yours aligns with our focus areas, please send a brief introduction and a link to your website to US.Growing.Communities@takeda.com. No application, no commitment — just an easy way to introduce your organization to our team.
